Connection to Place
Most outdoor programs guide people through landscapes.
Honey & Earth guides people into relationship with place.
Hi, I’m Melissa.
Truthfully, Honey & Earth has been finding its way into existence for years.
Not through a perfectly mapped-out plan, but through listening. Through paying attention to what kept calling me back: nature, community, meaningful conversation, and a curiosity for the land.
I've spent a lifetime exploring the outdoors, from childhood camping trips to studying outdoor survival in Australia, years of solo travel, and countless hours wandering forests, shorelines, mountains, and lakes.
Along the way, I discovered something simple but powerful: nature invites us into a different rhythm.
For over 15 years, I've been passionate about creating spaces where women can connect, grow, and build community. Honey & Earth brings those passions together through outdoor adventure, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
My hope is that this community inspires individuals to get outside, explore with intention, and discover the stories held within the landscapes around us.
I'm so glad you're here. - Melissa
HONEY&EARTH Approach
My approach is rooted in the belief that nature offers a different rhythm.
In a world that often asks us to move faster and do more, I create experiences that invite women to slow down, explore with intention, and develop a deeper relationship with the natural world.
Together, we learn about the geology, ecology, and stories of the landscapes we visit, while cultivating curiosity, connection, and stewardship.
The goal isn't simply to hike farther or check off destinations. It's to experience a place fully, to notice more, and to leave with a greater appreciation for the land and our place within it.
Belonging
A sense of connection to ourselves, one another, and the natural world.
Remembering
A deeper appreciation for the landscapes we explore and the ecosystems that sustain them.
OUR VALUES
-
We believe time outdoors helps people reconnect to themselves, to each other, and to the landscapes that hold us.
-
The outdoors teaches attention. We slow down enough to notice what the land is already showing us.
-
Respect for the outdoors begins with understanding it. The more connected people feel to a place, the more likely they are to protect it.
